Directx 10 for XP is wanted from long time. An alpha version of it is available now. Alky Project has released a preview of Alky compatibility libraries for Microsoft DirectX 10 enabled games. This can be used for Windows Operating system other than Vista to play games which requires Directx 10. This project was aimed to make DirectX 10 compatible games to run on Non Vista operating systems.

Das Alky-Project, welches sich zur Aufgabe gemacht hat, DirectX 10-Anwendungen auch unter Windows XP lauffähig zu gestalten, macht Fortschritte. Wie ein Projektleiter bekannt gab, gibt es eine Kooperation mit dem VAIO-Projekt.
Neue Partnerschaft
Das VAIO-Projekt hat es geschafft, alle Windows-Vista-Anwendungen wie Paint, den Editor oder den Sidebar, auch unter Windows XP stabil zum Laufen zu bringen. Das ehrgeizige Ziel bleibt: Spiele, die DirectX 10 benötigen, sollen zukünftig auch unter Windows XP funktionieren - auch wenn Microsoft das nicht will. Offiziell soll es niemals ein DirectX 10 für XP geben.
Halo 2 und Shadowrun sollen die ersten beiden Spiele werden, die auch unter Windows XP laufen, obwohl sie für Vista ausgelegt sind. Durch die Kooperation werden entsprechende Programmbibliotheken nun schneller bereitgestellt.
