Der fette und faule Panda Po (gesprochen von Hape Kerkeling) lebt im alten China als Nudelsuppen-Lehrling im Restaurant seines Vaters und träumt davon, ein wahrer Kung-Fu-Kämpfer zu sein. Ausgerechnet eine Prophezeiung stuft Po als Retter des Tals vor dem grausamen Schneeleoparden Tai Lung ein. Den empörten Kung-Fu-Meistern um Tigerin (Bettina Zimmermann) und Viper (Cosma Shiva Hagen) bleibt nichts anderes übrig, als den Taugenichts zu unterstützen.





Die Macher von "Shrek" und "Madagascar" langen wieder zu und zaubern einen gemütlichen Panda mit Gewichtsproblemen aus dem Ärmel, der durch die härteste Kung-Fu-Schule Chinas geht. Das ergibt eine pfiffige Animations-Sause samt flauschiger Hommage an die Shaw-Brothers.
