Samenvatting
'300' is gebaseerd op het epische stripboek van Frank Miller en vertelt op indringende wijze over de Slag bij Thermopylae. In deze veldslag vochten Koning Leonidas (Gerard Butler) en driehonderd Spartanen op leven en dood tegen Xerxes en zijn enorme Perzische leger. Het Griekse leger staat voor een onmogelijke uitdaging, maar hun moed en opoffering inspireren heel Griekenland om één front te vormen tegen hun Perzische vijand en voor democratie te strijden. De film brengt het veelgeprezen stripboek van Miller ('Sin City') tot leven door live actie te combineren met virtuele achtergronden, waardoor zijn opmerkelijke kijk op dit oude, historische verhaal wordt uitgebeeld.
