The 01 folder is optional.

This folder is used if you are installing a map that is not listed in the Keygen utility. (See 02 Folder.)
The 02 folder contains the Keygen utility.

There are 2 version of the utility.(For completeness)
You only really need to run version 1.3.
It\'s very easy to use. Most people are making it too hard when it comes to storing the maps on an SD card.
You basically get the Unit ID from within Mapsource. Hookup your GPS, then go to Utilities, Get Unit ID.
This is your 10 digit Unit ID. Open the Keygen utility, enter the 10 digit Unit ID in the first blank labeled:

Skip the 1st generate button, select your map on the bottom, then click the bottom generate button. This will create the
unlock code that is entered in Mapsource. Paste this code into the Mapsource Unlock wizard. (Utilities, Unlock Maps)
Now transfer the new maps to the device, whether to the device or the SD card. If Mapsource transfers the maps to the SD card
it will put the correct unlocks in the map files automatically.
The only cavet here is your map may not be in the drop down for the Keygen utility. You will then need to go to folder 01
and try and figure out he corret map/product ID. You can take a chance and look in the text file for known map/product IDs or you
can find out for yourself what the map/product ID is for the product you currently have installed. There are instructions
in the 01 folder. Most people will not have to do this. You need to enter the map/product ID in the custom map drop down in the
Keygen utility at the bottom. It is in the maps drop down. The process gets more detailed if you are not using Mapsource, but that is beyond the scope of my document here.
The 03 folder is optional.

This is used for phones that use Garmin maps in them. If you need this utility then you should know what to do with it.
The 04 folder is optional.

This folder has a command line utility if you wanted to doublecheck the map/product ID for the key you created. This could be helpful if you just looked at the map/product IDs that were listed in the file as known. It could also be just a good cover your
ass program. This is not needed as when you transfer the maps they will either work or not work.
FINAL

Figure out what product you have installed.
Create unlock code for your GPS using the Unit ID.
Install unlock code into Mapsource using the Unlock Wizard.
Transfer maps to device so that new unlock code is embedded in the maps.
Turn off and back on the GPS, see if any errors are displayed on boot of the GPS.
Be happy you didn\'t have to buy the Maps at retail.
