Garmin\\\\\\\'s Map Update 2009 for North America is out, and available for about $65. Garmin\\\\\\\'s website still says the update is due out later this month, but it looks like a number of retailers (including Amazon) are claiming the update is in stock and ready to ship.





The 2009 update is valid for all Garmin nuvi series, most StreetPilot models, and Zumo units. Read on for all the details, including what\\\\\\\'s changed in the new maps.





First things first: this update ships on a DVD so you\\\\\\\'ll need a PC/Mac, and can be applied to the following GPS units:

* all nüvi series


* zumo 450 and 550, GPSMAP 478 and 496, Quest 2





The update also says you\\\\\\\'ll need Internet access to activate the maps, and each update can only be applied to one GPS unit.
