Now a little bit about single flac and cue for those who are new to it all.





With the single flac file there are two .cue files (these are files that can be used to split the single file).


Also you can use the .cue file to burn with nero etc. which will split the tracks on the cdrom as it is being burned.


You can use the cue file with 'flac' in the title to split the flac file into the individual songs. 


The cue with 'wav' in the title is there if you decide to decompress to wav first before burning or splitting it. 


If you don't have software that uses cue files to split single files


this freeware will do it (i use it myself)...

there is a link to cuesplitter on this page, if this is all new to you it might seem a bit weird to see the album as one file, but there isn't much to it really and is preferable for burning straight to cd making it an exact copy.


I am not sure what the default settings are but when have installed cuesplitter, double click on you cue you want to use,


this should load cuesplitter (if not, right click on the cue file and choose 'open with' to locate cuesplitter)


the settings you need to check are on the screen near the bottom left of the program window. 


Put the ticks in the boxes as shown on the 'settings.jpg' picture link below, and choose default 'file mask'





that will name the split tracks as follows:


Track number - Artist - Track name

For linux users, use cuetools and shntool to split it into flac tracks with the following command line:


cuebreakpoints sample.cue | shnsplit -o flac sample.flac





do a google search using 'cuetools and shntool' and your build of linux etc for more info...
