Die junge, hübsche Susan Hamilton führt am Tage ein wunderbar erfülltes Leben. Doch in jeder Nacht plagen sie die immer gleichen, dunklen Träume. Doch Susan muss nicht nur das depressive Leben von Karen durchleiden, sondern sieht sich auch einer echten Gefahr ausgesetzt. Ein Serienkiller, den man nur den Night-Stalker nennt, scheint die Grenzen zwischen Traum und Wirklichkeit zu umgehen. Und Susan/ Karen scheint das nächste Opfer auf seiner Liste zu sein.
