Bill Evans (Plainfield, 16 agosto 1929 – New York, 15 settembre 1980) è stato un celebre pianista jazz statunitense.



Stan Getz (Philadelphia, 2 febbraio 1927 – Malibu, 6 giugno 1991) è stato un sassofonista statunitense di musica jazz: il suo sassofono tenore ha brillato particolarmente nel fortunato periodo del cool jazz, per il suo lirismo e lo straordinario calore del suo suono. Il suo vero nome era Stanley Gayetsky.





Parola di Bill Evans: "I am a ¾ person" che significa più o meno "mi sento completamente a mio agio sui tempi dispari" cioè, per i meno addentro, il walzer o giù di li (un-due-tre, un-due-tre… ). Questo detto a suo tempo con tutta l'anima romantica che informava il fine intelletto dell'artista. Inoltre da subito, a dispetto delle migliori collaborazioni avute nel corso della carriera, si capisce chiaramente che la gran quantità di idee originali ed il suo incredibile "new jazz conception" danno sicuramente il meglio nell'ambito del triangolo robusto, perfetto ed eterno costituito da piano - basso - batteria.

Con Evans & Stan si ha la sensazione che il jazz esca da certi schemi che ricordano i sottofondi sonori ad immagini narranti avvenimenti storici lieti o meno. Il modo raffinato lascia campo alla priorità della musica su ogni tipo di subordinazione visiva.Questa musica apre all'immaginazione e visto che non ci sono recensioni non rimane che ascoltarlo attentamente magari con in mano un bel cognac
