Torrent description

Do the James (Bonus Beats)

A random selection of breaks, cut and scratched for your pleasure.  Aptly named "Do the James" because of a fine tribute within it to the Godfather of Soul.

Haroon Al-Qahtani began DJ'ing around 1992.  When Hip-Hop started to look bleak around 1997 he sold my equipment and called it a day.  In his early years he hosted a radio show, guest DJ'ed on another, and sold mixtapes.  After a 10 year hiatus he's ready to give it another try.  He's never been a fan of overly polished work.  A good mixtape should capture the essence of a live, off the cuff performance.  A common theme throughout all of his tapes is that Hip-Hop is merely a way of packaging something, not a definitive style itself.
