TRAMA:
Rapito dagli alieni mentre sta rincasando, il pilota James Regan viene condizionato mentalmente per scagliare un attacco kamikaze contro Base Luna, l'installazione della S.H.A.D.O. che costituisce il primo baluardo difensivo della Terra contro gli extraterrestri.

RECENSIONE:
Il lungometraggio, distribuito per il mercato italiano nel 1973, aveva l'intento di sfruttare il successo di pubblico televisivo della serie UFO la quale per? era trasmessa dalla Rai in bianco e nero, perci? fu pubblicizzato come "un grande film a colori che non vedrete mai in TV"

Il film fu realizzato montando tre episodi inediti in Italia, (The cat with ten lives, Psychobombs e Timelash) e snellito con tagli di scene. L'opera non incontr? un parere molto favorevole da parte della critica, nonostante il grande successo ottenuto, perch? lo si riteneva un film realizzato per il grande schermo e non un montaggio di tre episodi televisivi differenti.

Il film tuttavia come il successivo Distruggete Base Luna, chiariva al pubblico alcuni retroscena della serie come l'origine del protagonista, il comandante Straker, e la genesi dell'organizzazione Shado.

La colonna sonora, per una curiosa svista, venne attribuita al compositore John Barry invece che all'originale Barry Gray, cos? il film venne arricchito con le note sfarzose di Agente 007.

In seguito al successo ottenuto vennero realizzati altri quattro lungometraggi, nei quali l'opera di riassemblaggio e mutamento dei dialoghi divenne cos? evidente e disinvolta da stravolgere od addirittura storpiare l'intreccio.
