Inoltre per questo periodo sar? presente a bordo dell'astronave un rappresentante del Servizio di Sicurezza Galattico, il Tenente Tamara Jagellovsk. Durante il suo primo pattugliamento, la Orion incrocia la rotta della stazione di comunicazione MZ-4 e, come sempre, invia un saluto ai suoi due occupanti, ma non riceve risposta. McLane ? preoccupato da questo silenzio e decide di inviare due uomini sulla stazione per scoprire se c'? un problema...
