Argumento:

Jigsaw y su aprendiz Amanda están muertos.



Tras conocer la muerte del Detective Kerry, dos avezados criminólogos del FBI, el agente Strahm (Scott Patterson) y el agente Pérez, llegan a la destartalada comisaría de policía y ayudan al veterano Detective Hoffman (Costas Mandylor) a investigar el último juego sanguinario de Jigsaw y a unir las piezas del malévolo puzzle. Pero de repente el Comandante Rigg del SWAT, el único oficial al que Jigsaw (Tobin Bell) aún no ha tocado, es secuestrado y obligado a formar parte del terrorífico juego de este psicópata, el oficial sólo tiene noventa minutos para superar una serie de trampas conectadas entre sí... o de lo contrario su vida estará en peligro.



La búsqueda de Rigg por toda la ciudad deja tras de sí una estela de cadáveres, lo que permite al Detective Hoffman y al FBI descubrir pistas que han estado ocultas durante mucho tiempo y que les llevan a Jill (Betsy Russell), la ex-esposa de Jigsaw. Al final se desvela el malvado juego de Jigsaw y salen a la luz las verdaderas intenciones del maestro de las marionetas, así como el siniestro plan que había diseñado para sus víctimas pasadas, presentes y futuras.
