Red Bull BC One is an annual international breakdancing series sponsored by the energy drink company Red Bull. It is an individual b-boy competition (as opposed to a crew competition). The main event is a knockout tournament featuring sixteen b-boys competing in one-on-one battles decided by a panel of five judges. The winners of worldwide regional knockout tournaments preceding the main event, along with the prior year's top finishers as well as wild card selections, comprise the final group of 16.



The main event was first held in 2004 in Biel, Switzerland and it has been held annually since; the 2005 event was in Berlin, Germany and the 2006 event was in São Paulo, Brazil. The 2007 main event will be held in Johannesburg, South Africa on September 22, 2007.



An official Red Bull BC One DVD documenting each main event is released usually about one year following the event. However, the production of the DVD has been criticized as the live music played during the competition is dubbed over and certain portions of the battles are edited out.
