SERIES 1 - EPISODE 2
THE THINGS WE DO FOR LOVE
Jenny Clarke, a young parishioner of Peter's when he was in Manchester, arrives in Ballykissangel to see him and checks into Fitzgeralds's telling Assumpta she has "come for the priest".
Meanwhile, Dr Michael Ryan tells Peter about his concern over a local young couple with a sick baby. Brian Quigley, is having manure dumped in the field next to their caravan in an effort to get them out.
Peter confronts Quigley over the caravanners to no avail. When he comes home he finds Jenny waiting for him. He is very discomforted by this and her reminder that they had a 'special relationship' in Manchester.
Jenny goes up to Peter's bedroom to wait for him while he agonises downstairs. Kathleen Conor, local God-fearing shopkeeper, sees the twosome. Unknown to her, soon afterwards Peter leaves his house with Jenny in it and goes to stay at Fitzgerald's.
Peter admits to Jenny that he did have feelings for her in Manchester, which is why he asked for a transfer.
Father Mac calls Peter before him to explain what Kathleen saw and Peter tells him. Peter complains to him about Quigley's behaviour. Father Mac tells him that Assumpta owns the field. Peter confronts Assumpta, who says she offered the couple money to move but, as it was not enough to put down as a deposit on a home, they turned it down.
When Siobhan comes Fitzgerald's flush from a racing tip and saying that she has reason to believe Cilldargan will beat Ballyk at the Gaelic football match. Peter suggests to Assumpta that she puts the money she offered to the couple on Cilldargan.
Peter is in goal on the Ballyk team and dubiously concedes Cilldargan's winning goal. Assumpta now has enough money to entice the caravanners to move.
Peter and Jenny say their farewells, her parting shot being "You'll know the next time", causing Peter to ponder his future
