Three hours are allowed. Six questions should be attempted, with no restriction of choice. 





Calculators may be used for the papers up to and including those set in 1996. The exams from 1997 onwards prohibit the use of calculators.





Some topics included in the 1987-97 papers are no longer part of the STEP Maths syllabus.
