sono manifestati: una moria inesplicabile di pesci sulle spiagge di Haiti; un villaggio completamente congelato nel deserto del Neghev (il sito è quello in cui sorgeva Sodoma); del sangue scorre in un fiume nicaraguegno; una eclissi 

imprevista ha oscurato il sole arrossando la luna; una città è sconvolta dal vento. Tali eventi misteriosi osservati da uno "straniero" e Padre Lucci, il primo una specie di storico, il secondo palesemente simbolo del maligno, 

camuffato in vesti sacerdotali, portano costoro ad avvicinare una giovane donna incinta.........
