  ..the entimology,....

One of my favorite top 10 LP/Album/CDs of all time.

..back in the early 60's, a 13 year old boy amazed the world with his rendition of 'Fingertips', playing harmonica like an old man.

This blind boy, Stevie Wonder went on and hung around Motown Studios in Detroit, Mich. until the regular folks there like the Temptations, Marvin Gaye, Diana Ross and The Supremes, etc got him to a contract and toured with him in the mid to late sixties. In 1971, at the ripe old age of 21, he got Barry Gordy of Motown to give him all the money owed to him by contract up to his legal age. He then signed an artist control agreement (probably one of the first of it's kind, ethnically speaking besides Elvis and The Beatles)which stated that he could produce what ever music he felt like.

At this point came one of the greatest periods of music produced by one artist that was awarded, covered, and accorded from 1971 to 1980 as some of the best music of all time.

At the earlier part of this period, he married a background singer named Syreeta Wright who helped penned his first two discs from the 'freedom period', "Music Of My Mind" and " Talking Book"

They divorced during this fertile period and (so I've heard)so as a condition of their divorce, they did her first solo album using all the usual people in their circle at that time including Mini Riperton amongst others (see musician list).

This collection is amazing, because it is autobiographical about their split up including the second side which is basically an opera about their breakup starting with the the haunting, and often covered, including Jeff Beck and myself,.......'Cause We Ended As Lovers'. This would qualify as the origin of it all.

I apolopgize for the quality of this copy. The origin is that I was an apostle of Stevie (musically speaking) at this time without knowing his personal history. I loved this album and all his albums really related to it at the time. I burned through this by my 3rd copy of the LP which obviously had a lot of scratches on it. I finally recorded it on a cassette where I then carried it around for  another 20 years with no case. I finally digitized it five years ago with (dbPoweramp) but wasn't able to rip it again until recently. I did a general dynamic processing on it and put it on here (55MB)version and a FLAC version(221MB).

It's ripped as an album long rip. I guess I believe it should be listened as one. If you wish to split up the songs, that's up to you. I can't believe I found it again. If you wish to buy it on line, Amazon has it available with Syreeta's version or demo of "I Love Every Little Thing About You Girl" which appeared in his version on "Talking Book". Please,...Enjoy,..Put your headphones on
