Dopo avere girato il mondo questa volta Herbie e i suoi amici si preparano ad una grande cavalcata attraverso l'America, dal Messico fino a Rio de Janeiro, dove si correrà un grande rally. Ma il Maggiolino e il suo padrone si ritrovano ben presto coinvolti nel piano di una banda di ricettatori per rubare l'oro da un'antica città Inca. Venirne fuori non sarà facile, anche perché il povero Maggiolino finirà addirittura in una Plaza de Toros per una insolita corrida. Ultimo capitolo delle avventure di Herbie, una commedia avventurosa che, negli splendidi scenari dell'America Latina, regala un'ora e mezza di puro divertimento in stile Disney.
