Il 20 luglio 1944 fallì l’attentato organizzato dal Colonnello Claus Schenk Graf von Stauffenberg ed altri cospiratori ai danni di Adolf Hitler. 

Il colpo di stato, conclusosi in maniera tragica, è passato alla storia come “rivolta della coscienza”.



Stauffenberg, racconta una congiura di alti ufficiali dell'esercito tedesco o in pensione, pochissimi, neanche 200, che pianificarono fin dal '42 l'uccisione di Hitler. Se fosse andato in porto avrebbe cambiato il corso della storia e risparmiato molte vite umane.

Il titolo prende in prestito il nome dal colonnello Claus Schenk Graf von Stauffenberg, principale autore dell'attentato ad Adolf Hitler nella sua Wolfschanze, la "tana del lupo" che il Fuhrer si era fatto costruire nel '40, nella foresta di Goerlitz, in Prussia Orientale. In quel rifugio il 20 luglio del 1944, il colonnello svevo, sfruttando l'occasione di una riunione tra alti ufficiali dell'esercito, portò una carica di esplosivo. La carica esplose, ma il Fuhrer riportò solo qualche graffio, tanto che lo stesso giorno, alle 16, accolse nella sua Wolfschanze, Benito Mussolini
