Johnny è un ricordante, un corriere-dati che è stato ingaggiato per trasportare software illegale, senza fare domande, in una bolla di memoria inserita chirurgicamente nel proprio cervello.



Al momento del caricamento dei dati, Johnny stavolta scopre che la sua capacità di immagazzinamento è la metà del necessario, obbligandolo ad usare un metodo pericoloso, che minaccia di provocargli in breve tempo un collasso neurale e va a sovrascrivere parte dei suoi ricordi personali.



Si trova inoltre invischiato in una storia poco piacevole in quanto i suoi clienti hanno rubato qualcosa di molto importante e la Yakuza lo rivuole indietro. La temuta organizzazione, che ha assorbito da tempo la Mafia e le Triadi, invia un killer armato con un laccio monomolecolare in grado di tagliare in due chi tenta di opporglisi.[/color]
