No direction home è una pellicola che suscita molte emozioni, dalla quale è difficile staccarsi durante i suoi 180 minuti. Scorsese è bravissimo nel mettere insieme tante schegge per costruire una storia avvincente, che innesca però un inevitabile effetto domino.

Finita infatti la prima e la seconda visione del film, diventa indispensabile, per chi ancora non l’ha fatto, leggere Chronicles Vol. 1, rivedere Don’t look back, esemplare documentario di Pennebaker sul tour inglese di Dylan del 1965, riascoltare la colonna sonora del film, nonché settimo volume della serie Bootleg, e magari procurarsi anche il feticcio The Dylan Scrapbook, che a suo modo documenta proprio il tanto romanzato decennio 1956-66. E se ancora aveta una pedina da giocare, procuratevi anche Like a rolling stone, nuovo saggio di Greil Marcus sulla canzone che cambiò tutto.

Tra i tanti pregi di questo appassionato lavoro di Scorsese c’è proprio la capacità di immergere lo spettatore nel mondo di Dylan
