  Sinopsis


Nadie era capaz de detener a John Dillinger (Johnny Depp) y a su banda. No había cárcel que se le resistiera. Gracias a su encanto personal y a sus osadas fugas era aplaudido por casi todo el mundo, desde su novia Billie (Marion Cotillard) hasta el hombre de a pie que no sentía simpatía alguna por los bancos que habían hundido el país en la depresión.





Las aventuras de la banda de Dillinger, que posteriormente incluiría al psicópata Baby Face Nelson (Stephen Graham) y a Alvin Karpis (Giovanni Ribisi), entretenían a la mayoría, pero J. Edgar Hoover (Billy Crudup) tuvo la idea de servirse de la captura del bandido para empezar a transformar su “Bureau of Investigation” (Oficina de investigación) en lo que sería el FBI. Convirtió a Dillinger en el “enemigo público número 1 de América” y lanzó a Melvin Purvis (Christian Bale), el apuesto “Clark Gable del FBI”, tras él.
