Franco Bertarelli, detto Venticello, si reca all'aeroporto per truffare i viaggiatori utilizzando la "truffa della schedina del Totocalcio". Dopo aver sentito i risultati alla radio la compila e poi fingendo di dover partire la vende ad un viaggiatore bergamasco per 5.000.000 di lire. In un altro luogo di Roma il maresciallo Nico Giraldi è impegnato a smascherare un tizio che truffa gli ingenui sostenendo che grazie a delle pastiglie giapponesi può trasformare un pieno d'acqua in carburante. Tornato al commissariato trova il viaggiatore lombardo. Dopo aver capito chi è l'autore della truffa fa irruzione in un bar per recuperare i 5 milioni...
