Torrent description

Sins of the Grandfathers - Nazi Comedy by Dan Tetsell - BBC Radio - cheops

"Of course there were many Germans who fought in the war who were good people. My Granddad wasn't one of them."

Grandparents are embarrassing  - especially if they were in the SS!.

Dan Tetsell, star of Radio 4's 'Museum of Everything' and BBC2's 'We Are History', presents a one-man show about guilt, Nazis, self-loathing and the basic inability of one-man shows to deal with guilt, Nazis and self-loathing...

Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2005 Review:

"It is seldom that you can attend a Fringe comedy show and expect to be educated and entertained simultaneously, but that is exactly what this show does. The subject is fascinating, and there are times you almost feel that the humour gets in the way, and you would like to hear more of the history.

Tetsell is a genial host, not really typical stand up material which is presumably why writing rather than performing is his day job, but a bit like your favourite teacher, the one who told jokes in class.

This show won the Writers Guild award for best writing in the Festival. I can easily see why."
