Angst und Schrecken herrscht, wenn Margaret Tate durch die Gänge ihres Buchverlags schreitet. Ihren leidgeprüften Assistenten Andrew Paxton beneidet niemand. Als der Kanadierin Margaret die Ausweisung aus den USA droht, weil sie die Verlängerung ihres Visas verschlafen hat, sieht die Zicke keine andere Lösung, als ihre bevorstehende Hochzeit mit Andrew zu verkünden - in Anwesenheit des Ahnungslosen.
