Schon lange träumt Christoph (Lucas Gregorowicz) von einer gefeierten Karriere als Buchautor von möglichst bedeutsamen Werken. Doch mit Anfang 30 hat er es nicht weiter als zu ein paar Groschenromanen gebracht. Bei seinem Nebenjob lernt er den Gauner Dominik (Wotan Wilke Möhring) kennen, der ihm für Recherchezwecke authentischen Einblick ins Milieu geben könnte. Statt dessen konfrontiert er Christoph mit dem wahren Leben.
