The name Wandafuru Raifu is Japanized English of Wonderful Life.
When you pronounce this correctly it becomes good Japanese--not butchered English. The same goes for Japaneese basubaru (baseball).
This movie was recommended to me and I (we) watched it "cold turkey."
If I had only read the IMDb comments writeups first I would have understood and liked it better. As it was, I didn't much care for it. Let's hope you are smarter than us.
I also watched another recommended Japanese movie "cold turkey."
It is called Cherry Blossoms, and it came out the same way.
