This is the well known Heroes of might and magic 3 GNU/Linux version. This torrent is a re-release. The installer is the latest available on the net. The disk image is from the Loki Linux games:

How to install:


1. open a terminal and go to where you downloaded the files.


2. mount the disk image with something like:


sudo mount -t iso9660 -o loop HMM3-Linux.iso /mnt/fakecd


actually /mnt/fakecd could be different on your end, but the idea is clear.


3. run the installer: ./homm.3_1.3.1a-english_x86.bin


It is a graphical , intuitive procedure. The defaults worked brilliantly for me on Ubuntu 9.04 Jaunty. I didn't have to install additional software - the installer has its libraries.


How to run:


The installer creates a shortcut in the gnome games menu , probably it will do it in kde too. The other way is to go to where you chose to install the game and run either ./homm3.dynamic.sh or ./homm3.sh
