SINOPSIS








Ray Eddy (Melissa Leo) está a punto de comprar la casa de sus sueños para su pequeña familia. Pero su marido, gran aficionado a las apuestas, huye con el dinero y la deja arruinada y sola con los niños. Mientras trata de encontrar a su marido, Ray conoce a Lila Littlewolf (Misty Upham), una chica mohawk que le propone una manera de ganar dinero fácil. El plan es arriesgado: pasar inmigrantes ilegalmente por el helado río Saint Lawrence, con patrullas fronterizas en las dos orillas. La desesperación por ganar dinero empuja a Ray a aceptar la oferta. Ray conducirá el coche y se repartirán las ganancias. Al principio, la capa de hielo es gruesa, pero a medida que siguen con su negocio y el hielo se hace más delgado, Ray y Lila descubrirán que trasladar inmigrantes tiene un precio.
