Una buona operazione di restauro da parte dell'italianissima Alan Young: il video risulta un pò granuloso, ma sufficentemente nitido e privo di graffi e spuntinature. L'audio è piuttosto pulito, anche se il sistema 5.1 non viene sfruttato nelle sue potenzialità. Per quanto riguarda i contributi speciali, sul primo disco abbiamo i commenti audio sottotitolati del regista Romero, del curatore degli effetti speciali Tom Savini e dell'attrice protagonista Lori Cardille.

Sul secondo disco è presente un documentario dove Romero e soci raccontano un pò di retroscena sulla gestazione del film; un corposo dietro le quinte ci svela i segreti dei trucchi che Savini ha utilizzato sulle comparse. Curiosa la presenza di un video promozionale sulla Wampum Mine, dove si sono svolte le riprese del film e trasformata in seguito in una impresa commerciale. Chiudono la carrellata diversi trailers, alcuni spot tv e la galleria fotografica. In definitiva un ottimo prodotto offerto al pubblico in una bella confezione. (Fonte: splattercontainer.com)

TRAMA (Italiano)



I morti viventi hanno ormai invaso gran parte delle città, nutrendosi dei suoi abitanti. Alcuni superstiti (ricercatori e soldati) sono nascosti nei sotterranei di un'installazione militare, dove si tenta di apprendere i motivi di tale ecatombe studiando i comportamenti degli zombi catturati come cavie. Ma la situazione interna, tra gli uomini capeggiati dal capitano Rhodes e gli scienziati guidati dal professor Logan, diventa di giorno in giorno intollerabile. PLOT (English)



Zombies rule the USA, except for a small group of scientists and military personnel who reside in an underground bunker in Florida. The scientists are using the undead in gruesome experiments; much to the chagrin of the military. Finally the military finds that their men have been used in the scientists' experiments, and banish the scientists to the caves that house the Living Dead. Unfortunately, the zombies from above ground have made their way into the bunker....
