L'Île au trésor des Muppets


Le jeune Jim Hawkins a été recueilli à la mort de ses parents par la vulgaire aubergiste Mme Bluveridge. Le pirate Billy Bones lui remet avant d'être assassiné la carte du trésor caché du capitaine Flint. Après avoir échappé à son tour à une horde de tueurs, Jim, accompagné de Gonzo et de Rizzo le rat, parvient à convaincre le stupide Squire Trelawney (joué par l'ours Fozzie) d'affréter un navire, l'Hispaniola, afin de partir à la recherche du trésor. Le navire est dirigé par le capitaine Abraham Smolett (Kermit la grenouille) secondé par M. Arrow (Sam l'aigle), le docteur Livesey (Walbec Bunsen) et son assistant Fiole (Beaker). Mais le cuisinier unijambiste Long John Silver a recruté secrètement l'ancien équipage du capitaine Flint et sitôt en mer, les pirates prennent le contrôle du navire afin de s'approprier le trésor. Arrivés sur l'ile où il est enfoui, ils tombent sur une tribu de cochons sauvages sur laquelle règne la voluptueuse Benjamina Gunn (Miss Piggy), ancienne fiancée de Somlett abandonnée devant l'autel et que tous croyaient disparue en mer.

While featuring the Muppet's usual good-natured slapstick humor, several musical numbers, and the occasional twist, the film stays fairly true to the familiar Stevenson storyline. Young Jim Hawkins (Kevin Bishop), the son of a first mate, working at an inn which caters to sailors, acquires a treasure map from seaman Billy Bones (Billy Connolly) and convinces Squire Trelawney's son (Fozzie Bear) to finance a voyage to recover the treasure. With Captain Abraham Smollet (Kermit the Frog) and First Mate Samuel Arrow (Sam the Eagle) in command, the Hispaniola sets sail for Treasure Island with a crew unwittingly composed of former pirates led by ship's cook Long John Silver (Tim Curry), who befriends Hawkins and gains his trust. On arrival, Silver kidnaps Hawkins and Smollet rescues the marooned Benjamina Gunn (Miss Piggy), his former fiancée. After many adventures Silver's pirate band is defeated, the treasure recovered, and Smollet and Gunn are reunited.
