On 29th August 2009 there is a Guinness World Record attempt to have the most number of people simultaneously dancing Michael Jackson's "Thriller" which is due to take place on what would have been his 51st birthday which is now his burial day. Every person involved in the event are being sponsored to help raise money for a charity of their choice, a welcome boost for the non profit sector in a time of recession and demonstrates that whilst Michael Jackson fans are still mourning the death of the most celebrated music star we can still celebrate his music and help communities by raising money for charity.





What makes this event different to the countless other attempts by groups all over the world is the number of people who are participating. At present, the record is held by the College of William and Mary students in Williamsburg in Eastern Virginia in America in which 242 people made the record.





Another difference with this event is that it's open to all, this video tutorial will teach you the dance routine to conform to Guinness standards in case people can't attend any dance lessons which are being provided free of charge by the event organisers (Desi Masti).
