Expect a perfect frenzy of key-bashing in the two-concert extravaganza that is the Proms' Multiple Pianos Day. There's music for four to eight hands here with the delightful Labeque sisters starring in an afternoon Prom that includes a new specially commissioned work by the young Scottish composer Anna Meredith. The evening programme includes John Adams's Grand Pianola Music (described by the composer as "Beethoven and Rachmaninov soaking in the same warm bath as Liberace, Wagner, The Supremes, Charles Ives and John Philip Sousa") and Stravinsky's balletic evocation of a Russian peasant wedding, Les noces (for singers, chorus, percussion and four pianos).



From the Royal Albert Hall, London. Presented by Sarah Walker.



As part of a day of music for multiple pianos, the Britten Sinfonia is joined by piano duos in a programme beginning with Faure's Dolly suite, followed by Mozart's playful and intimate double concerto.
