ATLAN ist bis auf den Jagdplaneten des Imperators von Arkon vorgedrungen, um sich in die Nachfolgeregelung des Sonnenkurs Pyrius Bit einzumischen. Das gestaltet sich allerdings bei den barocken Gepflogenheiten des Hofes als sehr anstrengend und gelingt nur durch eine Schein-Liaison mit der Imperatrix, der Gemahlin des Imperators.


Aber seine Feinde lassen ihn auch dort nicht ungestört - nur im Schutz des wegen Feuerchaos panikartig flüchtenden Weltraumzirkus gelingt auch Atlan das unbemerkte Entkommen vom Jagdplaneten - leider auch von seinen Freunden unbemerkt…


Einem seiner erbarmungslosesten Häscher gelingt es allerdings, das ATLAN beherbergende Raumschiff OSA MARIGA zum Absturz zu bringen - und ATLAN findet sich auf dem Grund eines mit aktiven Vulkanen übersäten Meeresgrund wieder…


Höchste Zeit auszusteigen - nur wie…alle Beiboote sind zerstört…
