Enquanto atravessavam o país em direção a Las Vegas, dois casais são obrigados a “pegar emprestado” um carro de um rancho aparentemente abandonado, depois que o veículo deles quebra numa área rural de Utah. Em breve, eles saberão que o carro que eles furtaram pertence a Rusty Nail, o frio e calculista assassino que costuma criar jogos cruéis com suas vítimas, persuadindo-os com seu caminhão negro.
