« Il CD rispecchia l’alto standard dei precedenti album Shangri-la e Kill to get krimson .


E’ un album risolutamente celtico.


Mark ha avuto un colpo di fulmine per McCasker, infatti è onnipresente.


La produzione è perfetta, gli arrangiamenti tradizionali molto belli e ci sono alcuni lunghi pezzi di chitarra.


Un paio di pezzi blues alla “Kingdom come” < Cleaning my gun > , < You can’t beat the house > sono ritagliati dagli undici brani.


Ad esclusione di < The car was the one > il “médiator” (? Così è scritto in francese) e la barra del tremolo sono stati riposti nell’armadio. Le chitarre elettriche del 2009 sono coraggiose e sature.


Probabilmente il brano più riuscito di questo Album è proprio < Get Lucky > con buon impianto acustico come nell’ultima tournée quando il gruppo si è lanciato in “Marbletown” e con un lungo assolo di flauto.


< Monteleone > e < Remembrance day > sono brani che qualificherei innovativi; il primo è una ballata sofisticata, il secondo contiene la famosa corale di bambini con un refrain semplice ma che resta in testa.


Se le radio trasmetteranno un “singolo” questo potrebbe essere < Border reiver > che apre l’Album con un’introduzione celtica che ricorda “Darling pretty”e poi monta d’intensità con l’introduzione di tutti gli strumenti ed infine subentra la voce di Mark.


L’Album termina con due brani riusciti: < So far from the clyde > in stile blues e < Piper to the end > che ha lo spirito di “ In the sky”.


Come il precedente Get Lucky è un disco enciclopedico che farà piacere esplorare
