Ihre Familie rächte sich an Angel, indem sie ihm eine Seele gaben. Mit dieser spürt er das Leid der Menschen und hat sich aufgemacht, um ihnen zu helfen. Er arbeitet in San Fransisco für Angel Investigations, eine Organisation, die Vampire und Dämonen ausfindigmachen und auslöschen soll. Zusammen mit Wesley, Cordelia, Gunn und Fred beschützt er die Schutzlosen. Er kann jedoch nie wirklich glücklich sein. In dem Moment indem ihm wahres Glück widerfährt, verliert er seine Seele und wird wieder zu Angelus.
