From the outside, the Sighthill Estate in North Glasgow is better known for crime, drugs and poverty than for its sense of community. Built in the 1960s, Sighthill was once home to 7,500 people. As the area is primed for demolition, the community is slowly disappearing. In a 16-part series, filmed over one year, 3 Minute Wonder presents an intimate and insightful portrait of a high-rise community being cleared for demolition and regeneration. These are the stories of The Estate.



1. My Home

In the first film Zimbabwean asylum-seeker Sifiso describes building a home for her family on the notorious estate.



2. Vertical Living

Taking floor-by-floor glimpses to reveal the unique neighbourhoods of tower block living.



3. Unsettled

Now in their 11th home, Heather and her family are seeking stability in the face of uncertainty.



4. A Day In The Life

This film offers a poetic glimpse of a typical day in the life of The Estate.



5. Our Piece of Heaven

Economic refugees Magda and Pawel proudly reveal that their condemned flat is their first real home.



6. The Local

This episode meets the regulars of The Caledonian Bar on the estate.



7. Starting Again

Somalian asylum-seeker Zeinaba looks forward to a better life in Scotland.



8. Four Seasons

The estate's residents describe the unique characteristics of their "windy city".

Rwandan asylum-seeker Angela has found "paradise" on the notorious estate.

Syeda's shop is at the centre of both the estate's ethnic community and the condemned towerblocks.

The series culminates in the dramatic destruction of the towerblocks that thousands once called home.
