Um die verlorene Ehre seines Vaters zu retten, lässt sich der junge Palästinenser Tarek (Shredi Jabarin) von Freunden einer Terrororganisation nach Israel fahren, um sich auf einem Markt in Tel Aviv in die Luft zu sprengen. Das Selbstmordattentat misslingt, weil der Zünder versagt und da Sabbat ist, muss Tarek warten. So lernt er den Elektrohändler Katz (Shlomo Vishinsky) kennen, der um seinen in der Armee gestorbenen Sohn trauert, und die rebellische Keren (Hili Yalon).
Bitterses Drama um einen palästinensischen Selbstmordattentäter, der den Tod sucht und das Leben findet. Tragik und Hoffnung liegen dicht beisammen in einer sich anbahnenden Romanze, die ein differenziertes, bewegendes Bild eines zerrissenen Landes und des Nahostkonfliktes zeigt.
