Trama: Il boss parigino di Cosa Nostra fa uccidere in un attentato l'Ispettore Clouseau. Grande sollievo negli ambienti della malavita, ma soprattutto nel cervello dell'ispettore Dreyfus che esce dal manicomio e riprende il suo posto nella polizia. Ma Clouseau, che in realtà è sfuggito all'attentato, vigila e continua le indagini. Il finale nella fabbrica di fuochi d'artificio è fulminante e pirotecnico. Ma tutto il film funziona splendidamente grazie ai travestimenti di Peter Sellers, ai tic di Herbert Lom e alle sortite improvvise di Cato. Da non perdere, naturalmente, i titoli di testa.
