Produced in 2002, and first broadcast at the end of 2003 as a part of the BBC's 'Time Shift' documentary series, Alistair Cooke's Postcards from America, mixes excerpts from his iconic radio broadcasts with television and film footage of significant events from American history over the last 50 years. The result is a personal insight into Cooke's relationship with the American nation and how he used his skills as a broadcaster to explain that nation to the British.
