Krapp's Last Tape with Harold Pinter (2006) [TVrip (XviD)]

Krapp's Last Tape written by Samuel Beckett

Krapp is played by Harold Pinter.

The production follows an 8-minute interview.

Description from New York Times review of a different production:

Krapp spends his days listening to tapes he made earlier in his life, and recording new ones. The technology he uses may be obsolescent, but the play is remarkably prescient in its understanding of how, in the modern world, identity is refracted by ever- proliferating forms of mechanical reproduction. For most of the play, Krapp's voice - the still-young, smooth voice of his 39-year-old self - is detached from his body, the bent, sad frame that leans over the tape recorder as if in a desperate attempt to touch the vanished past. What the older Krapp hears is his younger self recounting, without quite knowing it, the eclipse of his hopes. He impatiently fast-forwards through the parts of the tape that record a great philosophical insight and obsessively returns to the memory of a moment of intimacy in a rowboat.

Wikipedia description from a far longer article:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Krapp%27s_Last_Tape

The curtain rises on "a late evening in the future." It is Krapp’s sixty-ninth birthday and, as has become his custom, he hauls out his old tape recorder, reviews one of the earlier years - in this case the recording he made when he was thirty-nine - and makes a new recording commenting on the events of the previous twelve months. He is described in the text as a "wearish old man." "I saw Krapp small and wizened," Beclett wrote later; "Krapp has nothing to talk to but his dying self and nothing to talk to him but his dead one."
