9. The Expert

First Broadcast: Tue 26th February 1974

Bob and Thelma have had another argument and she has gone back to her mother. Bob turns to Terry for a shoulder to cry on and eventually agrees that he should stay calm and do nothing. But Bob is not a man to play it cool and is soon regretting his approach - especially when he can smell Thelma's cologne on Norman, his teddy bear.

10. Between Ourselves

First Broadcast: Tue 5th March 1974

While Thelma is still at her mother's, Bob has not been eating. He is also regretting having Terry stay with him as he's messy, lazy and causing his neighbours to talk. Bob writes a letter to Thelma that Terry tries to deliver at the library but even that is doomed to failure it seems.

11. The Go-Between

First Broadcast: Tue 12th March 1974

Terry's housekeeping and his wife's absence are starting to take their toll on Bob! Not only has Terry broken the toaster by putting chops in it but his fag ends are in the plant pots! Something has to give so Terry decides to pay Thelma a visit to try and persuade her to return to Bob.

12. Conduct Unbecoming

First Broadcast: Tue 19th March 1974

Terry has got involved in a ruck with a local hard man, Scaife, and is up before the magistrate. The next evening he is determined to finish the matter but, instead, calls a truce over a pint and a fag - but nobody has told Bob and his comments make for more hostility ...

13. The Shape of Things to Come

First Broadcast: Tue 26th March 1974

With the death of notorious Uncle Jacob, the Collier family gather to pay their last respects. Terry has time to reflect on his own future but Bob is shocked when Mrs Collier's description of the deceased seems a little too close to home.

Christmas Special: 1974

First Broadcast: Tue 24th December 1974

Bob and Thelma are going to a fancy dress party on Christmas Eve and, inevitably, Terry has to get involved. Having passed his driving test he just happens to be the taxi driver who turns up to take them there.
