Series 5 Episodes 22 to 25

Avengers - Emma Peel Megaset Vol 8 Disc 16: The Positive-Negative Man/Murdersville/Mission Highly Improbable/The Forget-Me-Knot

22 The Positive Negative Man - The Avengers investigate the shocking

murder of an electronics wiz. People are found embedded in walls, documents inside sealed safes are found burned—such are the events that draw Steed and Emma into the picture. They discover that an ordinary man, using some high-voltage technology left over from an abandoned science project, has acquired extraordinary powers for the purpose of murder and mayhem.

Production completed: 31 August 1967

UK Premiere (London, Season 6): 3 November 1967

23 Murdersville - A town of assassins put out a deadly welcome mat

for the Avengers. Whilst driving a childhood friend to his new home, Emma stumbles upon Little Storping in the Swuff, a village wherein the entire population is in the murder business: if you want someone disposed of, just drop them off in town and the friendly folks of Little Storping will take care of the rest.

Production completed: 25 August 1967

UK Premiere (London, Season 6): 10 November 1967

24 Mission ...Highly Improbable - A ray gun turns Steed and Mrs. Peel

into miniatures. "It's a dream... a dream... a tiny dream." People and objects—like limousines and armored tanks—are disappearing into thin air at an army base, where an absent-minded professor has accidentally invented the next great weapon, which naturally falls into the hands of some dastardly types with visions of large-scale takeovers...

Production completed: 22 September 1967

UK Premiere (London, Season 6): 17 November 1967

25 The Forget-Me-Knot - A traitor infiltrates the organization. Agent Sean Mortimer learns of a traitor in The Organization, but by the time he reaches Steed and Emma, the amnesia-inducing drugs used on him take effect, and he can no longer remember his own name, let alone his urgent message. Just as Emma is making some headway coaxing information out of Mortimer, she, too, is hit with the drug. Meanwhile, Steed encounters trainee, ahem, number 69, A.K.A. Tara "Rah-boom-dee-ay" King, and thanks to her phone number tucked in his shoe, he has a tenuous link to reality when he at last is drugged as well, and Mother is forced to put him on the "suspect" list. This episode features the changeover from Emma Peel to Tara King and features both characters together, be it very briefly.

Production completed: 19 January 1968

UK Premiere (London, Season 7): 25 September 1968
