Although dressed up as serious docs, Kemp's earlier series always seemed an excuse to relive his days as an EastEnders brute. The formula was simple: he would nod tersely and drop in a few "mates" as the real tough guys - gangs, soldiers - shared their stories. This is different. Week two of the pirate hunt takes place in Nigeria, where he tours the slums of Lagos and - against official advice - the Niger Delta, witnessing by-products of the oil industry: gross environmental damage and extreme poverty. Pirates prove elusive, but desperate people don't.
