Mike Oldfield's Tubular Bells II performed for one of the BBC's "Edinburgh Nights" series of programmes. Broadcast from Edinburgh Castle on 4th September 1992.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tubular_Bells_II_Live gives details of the tracklist.

There are VHS and DVD versions of this commercially available, but the broadcast version is slightly different, the soundtrack is the live feed for the BBC at the concert, where as the commercial releases are a studio mix done after the concert.

The soundtrack was taken directly from the stereo PAL NICAM tape and captured to 48K WAV file, very little restoration and cleaning has been done on this, so ground loops, PA noise and some feedbacks are still there just like you would have heard it if you had been present at the concert in 1992.

Generally the audio quality is very good and with this in mind we originally wanted to up this as a DVD ISO the soundtrack as LPCM audio, however this would not have fitted in with thebox rules.

Even at 320k at 4800kb/s MP3 there is some slight loss, but it is still pretty good, really shows that NICAM VCRs were very good audio recorders - pity the picture didn't always match this!

Video quality is fairly good for a tape recorded on LP, although there are some head smears on a few sections but nothing very bad.

I hope you will enjoy this.
