Torrent description

I'm uploading all of Doctor Who, in order. Since, roughly, the beginning of the Tom Baker era the torrents have been marked 'TRBLE' to help search them. As soon as someone else is seeding the current disc I do the next one.

If there is an official BBC DVD then that's what you get, if there isn't then it's my own DVD. These are sometimes taken from official BBC VHS releases, sometimes encoded from AVI's.  I always list the source, assuming I can remember what it was (most of these I made years ago). My menu's are fairly simple affairs, partly because it was the best I could do at the time, partly because I can't stand having to sit through 5 minutes of garbage to get to the main menu (as with the BBC releases!). When a previously uploaded VHS or AVI disc is released on DVD by the BBC I'll do an updated version. These will have an 'a' after the number (as in '027a - The War Machines). All of my discs are PAL.

Simultaneously with the Colin Baker discs I will also be uploading 'The Stranger'.  This is a series produced for video by a company called BBV.  The series stars Colin Baker and Nicola Bryant playing not exactly the doctor and companion, but a similar-ish pair.  For more information look at www.bbvonline.co.uk  Check for the uploads by searching 'TRBLE'.

Disc 1 of this upload is the BBC DVD released in 2009.  Disc 2 is my transfer of the BBC VHS, which I am including because it contains a clips from 'Saturday Superstore' which is not on the DVD.

PS. Due to a number of conversations I have had recently I would like to state my reasons for using open trackers and open sites.  Although I prefer to remain fairly anonymous online, I have been around for many years.  Before torrents were even a dream I used to use IRC to up and download, and one thing which used to really annoy me was the elitism of certain people online.  Because I post comments rarely and change my online name every so often, I have never had an online prescence with hundreds of posts to my name.  Because of this I was nearly always seen as a 'newbie' by most people, and I encountered quite a lot of snottiness from the 'superusers' (or whatever the channel or forum called multiposters).  As far as I am concerned, the internet is for everyone, whether they spend 99% of their lives online or not.  I believe torrents work because of the give and take of the majority of users, and registered trackers with percentage quotas run contrary to that.  A certain percentage of people will 'hit & run' for one reason or another, and part of the freedom of the internet is their right to do that.  I personally do not seed everything I download because I don't have the bandwidth, but I pick and choose what I seed according to what needs it.  There will always be a small number of downloaders who don't seed anything, but that's life!

The only people I have no tolerance for are the people who will complain about small flaws in something which they are getting essentially free.  If you read the comments for my uploads you will know who I mean, there have been a small number of moaners over the last 2 years.  To those people I would direct to the Amazon homepage.  There you will find all you will ever need in perfect quality.  Of course, you will have to pay, but then you will have a right to complain if there are faults.  I have never claimed to be perfect, and I do make mistakes.  I have always tried to correct them, but if that is not good enough for you - Amazon/VHS player/Capture card/DVD encoder - all you need, go to it.
