I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue, sometimes abbreviated to ISIHAC or simply Clue, is a BBC radio comedy panel game which has run since 11 April 1972. Since then, the programme has been produced at the rate of one or two series each year, being broadcast on BBC Radio 4, with occasional repeats on BBC Radio 7 and the BBC's World Service. The format, introduced as "the antidote to panel games", consists of four comedians, split into two teams and "given silly things to do" by a chairman. Humphrey Lyttelton (known on the show as "Humph") served in this role from the programme's inception until his death in 2008.

The show was conceived in 1972 as a parody of the then-ubiquitous radio and tv panel games; it includes elements that satirise them. The 50th series was broadcast in November and December 2007 on BBC Radio 4.  In April 2008, following the hospitalisation and subsequent death of Lyttelton, recording of the 51st series was postponed.

On 9 September 2008 a BBC Radio 4 spokesman said a new series of ISIHAC was planned for 2009, but no decision had been made on who would present it.  Graeme Garden, interviewed on PM the same day, said it was expected the position would be held by a number of people in rotation since it was unlikely that anyone would want to try to take over from Humph. On 25 February 2009 it was announced that Lyttelton is to be replaced by a trio of hosts: Stephen Fry, Jack Dee and Rob Brydon.

In the monthly Clue email list mailout for October 2008, producer Jon Naismith announced that the next series would begin transmission on 15 June 2009. The first show of this series was recorded on 26 April 2009, with Stephen Fry in the chair.
