Vinyan is de ergste nachtmerrie van ouders. Nadat hun zoontje tijdens hun vakantie in Thailand werd meegesleurd door de vernietigende golven van de Tsunami, gaan Paul en Janet door een diep emotioneel dal. Hun zoontje is vrijwel zeker dood, hoewel zijn lichaam nooit werd gevonden. Maar dan ziet Janet op televisie een documentaire over weeskinderen in de Birmese jungle. Tussen de kinderen meent ze haar eigen zoontje te herkennen. Hoewel Paul sceptisch is, steunt hij zijn vrouw in haar wens om op zoektoch te gaan naar hun kind. Maar in de duistere, diepe Aziatische jungle wacht hen een nog grotere nachtmerrie.
