Synopsis


Le village de Courdimanche a pour maire un homme bon et juste qui haît la guerre. Médecin, il s'est fait un ami du major allemand qui exerce à l'hôpital réservé aux troupes d'occupation. Mais si un pilote anglais est abattu, c'est chez cet homme de cœur qu'il trouve asile. Le maire est d'ailleurs arrêté mais le major intervient aussitôt en sa faveur. Sa fille Catherine éprouve alors une amitié bientôt amoureuse pour l'allemand, ce qui choque la population.
